Games are not for me

I have been trying to keep up with the video game business for the last 10 years, but have lost it in the last year. I have owned a PS , XBOX , Gameboy, PSP and some older stuff not really worth mentioning. When looking back i realized that i only really used the Gameboy (my wife used it heavily until it fell appart) and the PSP. I like the PSP for its handling of different media (i.e. Movies) which i record with my dreambox and sync with PSPWare to keep the PSP up to date. I have a problem with many of the current games though, because they force you to spend too much time with getting aquinted with the interface, storyline, characters, etc.

So what it comes down to is: I play MaME

Killer Games

Everytime some kid starts shooting in his school politicians and media start discussing the “killer games” (Counter Strike, Quake, Half Life etc.). I have just read the best comment in a german forum. If you can read german go to “Schafft endlich Schach ab! Und Brot!

Macbook Pro whines

I have no idea, when it happend, but my Macbook Pro has started to emit a high whining sound from the upper left of my keyboard. It seems to start when the screen is very bright (eg. white background) and sometimes just stops. I am not alone with this problem and think i will have to bring it into service in the next days. Hopefully i can live without one for a week (they don’t take longer do they?)

Moved and trashed

I just went ahead and moved my blog to wordpress . I liked typo, but the resources it took (even on dreamhost) were just too much. I even had the administrators write to me because my blog took too many resources. I have not done any customizing yet. I don’t think that i will need the old blogfiles anymore so i just trashed them…

Moving Blog

I am in the process of moving my blog to a new (wordpress) system, which is the one that you are seeing right now. The old system (typo) is nice and hip, as it is ruby on rails, but a huge memory hog, which is causing more problems than the flexibility of the software solves (at least for me). I will start designing some better template and configuring the system asap, once i have the time. Until then…
